I've been using Acronis True Image for many years, currently version 2019. Well, I'm hoping to use MR 8 for at least a few years. But since Reflect V9 hasn't arrived, it's not clear when that would be for V8 yet. Macrium's normal policy is that a given major release, such as "Version 8" reaches its end-of-support date one year after the launch of the next major release. That said, Macrium not long ago issued a Reflect V6 update even after V6 had been classified as end-of-life that kept it working on a new Windows 10 release where it otherwise would have been broken, so it seems they do try to take care of their customers, even those who don't upgrade to remain on a supported release. It also doesn't guarantee that Reflect V8 will continue to be useful forever if you upgrade OTHER aspects of your environment, such as your PC or Windows version.
But that just means you own specifically Reflect V8. It means that you pay for it once, and now you can use the software forever, with no additional payments required later on to keep the softwareactive as would be the case with a subscription license. A perpetual license is as opposed to a subscription license.
Does that mean I'll be able to upgrade to MR 9 when it is released? I just purchased a 4 pack of Macrium Reflection 8.
